広島長崎平和宣言 (英語)

To All the Citizens of the World

A Peace Declaration by
High School Students of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Our goal is to realize a world free from nuclear weapons;
We believe that getting rid of them will take the world a step closer to peace.

Born and brought up in a land that suffered devastation by atomic bombs,
We have grown up with a knowledge of its horrors.

Two a-bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
At 08:15, August 6, 1945 and 11:02, August 9, 1945;
The tragedy they wrought must not be forgotten;
History must not be repeated.

It is for this reason that Hiroshima and Nagasaki must join hands to
Spread the message of nuclear disarmament

To put an end to an increase in human suffering,
We must take a good look at the problems around the world today;
We must learn the true history of things from different perspectives;
We must hear the voices of the many and understand their sentiments.

For the sake of the future,
Rather than protect ourselves with nuclear weapons,
We must foster mutual dialog and trust;
We dream of overcoming the barriers of religion, race, and language,
And taking each other’s hands in friendship

We may be humble, but we are not helpless!

What can you do today for the realization of world peace?

For all the people
For the world
For the earth
And
For the future!

What shall be your contribution?

We the high-school students of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Declare that we share the desire for a world free from nuclear weapons
And vow to walk hand in hand
Toward the realization of world peace.
